Lukashenko: Independence Day is a symbol of national pride, valor and glory

MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – In the run-up to Independence Day President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to the Belarusian people, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

“The main holiday of the country is inextricably connected with one of the most important events in the Belarusian history – the liberation of the Motherland from Nazi invaders. For the Belarusian people this date is the symbol of national pride, valor and glory, the embodiment of unity and solidarity of people,” the head of state stressed. “We will remember forever the great feat of our people who fought for the freedom against Nazi invaders, revived the country, brought back to life the destroyed towns and villages”.

“The generation of descendants of victors has built an independent sovereign state with rapidly growing economy, advanced science and rich culture. Today we are confidently moving along the chosen path towards our goal: the strong and prosperous Belarus - the state for the people,” Alexander Lukashenko remarked.
