Lukashenko confirms Belarus’ commitment to stronger ties with Ukraine

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has confirmed Belarus’ strong commitment to deepening cooperation with Ukraine. Alexander Lukashenko made this statement as he received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Belarus Mikhail Yezhel on 27 June, BelTA has learnt.

“First of all, I would like to emphasize our strong determination to strengthen ties with Ukraine, our nearest neighbor and a most reliable partner. My recent official visit to Ukraine was another testimony to our mutual engagement and commitment of our governments to a constructive approach to the bilateral agenda,” the Belarusian President said.

“We agree with each other that we need to foster the political dialogue, boost economic ties and intensify the entire spectrum of the interstate cooperation. We should take into consideration new large-scale integration processes going on in the former Soviet Union republics,” the head of state said.
