Kazakhstan promises fast response to Belarus’ Mogilevkhimvolokno project proposal

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) - Kazakhstan is going to respond to the proposal relating to the participation in a joint project at OAO Mogilevkhimvolokno in the nearest future, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Ergali Bulegenov said at a press conference on 26 June, BelTA has learnt.

“A proposal has come from Belarus to establish a joint venture given the abundance of paraxylene in Kazakhstan. We are looking into the possibility to join the project. Our experts have visited Mogilevkhimvolokno several times and are now working on the estimates,” Ergali Bulegenov said.

According to the official, this issue was raised during the recent visit of the Kazakh Prime Minister to Belarus, too. An instruction was given to the KazMunaiGaz company to make all necessary estimations and give their response. “That is why we are waiting. I think that we will be able to give a response in the next few days,” Ergali Bulegenov noted.

As BelTA has reported, there are plans to implement the big project at OAO Mogilevkhimvolokno to process Kazakhstan’s paraxylene into terephthalic acid.
