Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Orders, medals and honorary titles of Belarus were bestowed upon 77 representatives of various professions in recognition of many-years fruitful work, exemplary fulfillment of service duties and professional excellence. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed decree No. 279 “Concerning the conferment of state awards” on 20 June, BelTA learned from the presidential press service.

The Order of Fatherland 3rd Class was bestowed upon Director General of the Belarusian-German joint venture Santa Impex Brest Alexander Moshensky and Director General of OOO Triple Yuri Chizh.

Alexander Arkhipov, head of the department for the demilitarization and demarcation of the state border of the State Border Committee, was decorated with the Order for Service to the Homeland 2nd Class.

The Order of Honor was conferred on First Vice Rector of the Belarusian State Economic University Viktor Sadovsky. The Order of Francysk Skaryna was presented to member of the Belarusian Union of Painters Viktor Gromyko. The Medal for Labor Excellence has been bestowed upon bus driver of the Grodno-based specialized automobile company Mechislav Omelyanchik. The Medal of Francysk Skaryna was presented to chairman of the board of the Belarusian Cultural Fund Vladimir Gilep.

The People’s Artist of Belarus title was given to soloist, chief master of stage of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus Vasily Kovalchuk.

Natalia Tamelo, chief master of stage of the National Academic Symphony and Concert Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, received the Honored Artist of Belarus title.

The Honored Figure of Arts of Belarus title was given to member of the Belarusian Union of Painters Vladimir Gordeyenko.

Irina Poleshchuk, professor of the logistics and pricing policy chair of the Belarusian State Economic University, was awarded the Honored Scientist of Belarus title.

The Honored Worker of Education of Belarus title was presented to professor of the agribusiness chair of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy Viktor Obukhovich.

First Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Zhuk was decorated with the Honored Worker of Agriculture of Belarus title.

The Honored Coach of Belarus title was presented to Anatoly Borets, cycling coach of Gomel Olympic training school No. 1 of the Belarusian sport association Dinamo.

In line with the executive order signed by the head of state, official letters of thanks of the President were given to Chairman of the Dokshitsy District Executive Committee Oleg Pinchuk and six workers of the State Control Committee.
