CIS experts to meet in Minsk to discuss quality of life standards

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – A meeting of experts in developing quality of life standards in line with the international practice will take place in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on 6-7 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Standards will be developed in the following areas: wellbeing, social security, education, living conditions, quality of products and services, ecological situation, legal safety, culture, physical education and sport, tourism.

“The main objective is to establish a minimal level of state guarantees for securing the implementation of the social and economic rights provided under the Constitution and set out guidelines for the implementation of the social and economic policy aimed at sustainable development of the countries,” the press service said.

The task to develop quality of life standards has been stipulated in the action plan for the implementation of the first stage of the CIS economic development strategy through 2020.
