Union State MPs back Constitutional Act

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – The Union State parliamentarians speak in favor of the Union State Constitutional Act. The relevant statement was made at a meeting of the Belarus-Russia Union State PA commission on legislation and regulation with the participation of representatives of profile commissions of the Parliamentary Assembly on 29 March.

Belarusian and Russian MPs were unanimous that further development of the Union State would be hampered without the Constitutional Act. Chairman of the PA commission on security, defense and crime prevention, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives’ permanent commission on national security Valery Gaidukevich noted that “the normal legislative activity lacks the basis we can rely on.”

The issue that topped the agenda of the meeting was coordination of lawmaking activities of the PA commissions. MPs looked into the draft fundamentals of the legislation of the Union State and its member states in the Union State security, discussed the work on the draft wording of the order of the Union State budget performance.
