Belarus-Turkey industrial cooperation group to hold first meeting in Minsk

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – The first meeting of the joint Belarus-Turkey working group on industrial and technological cooperation will take place as part of the visit of Deputy Minister for Industry, Science and Technology of Turkey Davut Kavranoglu to Minsk. He is leading the Turkish delegation to Belarus on 25-30 March, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

According to the ministry, the visit follows the agreements reached at the 7th meeting of the Belarus-Turkey joint intergovernmental economic commission.

The first meeting of the joint working group on industrial and technological cooperation is expected to focus on industrial cooperation projects for the near future, including assembling of Belarusian tractors and MAZ trucks in Turkey. The Turkish delegation is expected to visit free economic zones in Mogilev and Grodno to discuss Turkey’s possible participation in the organization of industrial zones in these regions.

The Turkish delegation comprises representatives of the Small and Medium-Sized Business Development and Support Organization, the Council for Sci-Tech Research, the Turkish Institute for Standardization and heads of a number of industrial companies.
