Serbia President attends Minsk Lighthouse foundation ceremony

MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – Belarus-Serbia cooperation in civil engineering looks promising. The statement was made by Serbia President Tomislav Nikolic during the foundation ceremony of the shopping center Minsk Lighthouse on 13 March, BelTA has learned.

Tomislav Nikolic underlined that Serbian civil engineering companies successfully work on the CIS market. As an example he mentioned the holding company BK Group, which is implementing the large-scale project Minsk Lighthouse in the capital city of Belarus. The complex comprises a shopping center as large as 200,000 square meters, residential buildings, and office premises.

“We aim to make the bilateral relations stronger. Belarus can be an example for the economy of Serbia. Representatives of Serbian business should use the economic opportunities granted by the bilateral agreements that have been signed. Civil engineering projects unveil great prospects for exporting our products,” said Tomislav Nikolic.

In turn, Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Mr Anatoly Nichkasov said the Minsk Lighthouse was a symbol of Belarusian-Serbian friendship in investments and politics and said he hopes for further mutually beneficial cooperation.

The construction of the Minsk Lighthouse involves several phases. The project is being implemented next to the National Library of Belarus.
