Belarusian, Omsk chambers of commerce ink cooperation agreement

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an agreement on cooperation during the business forum held in Minsk on 12 March, BelTA has learned.

The document was signed by Mr Vyacheslav Reut, First Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ms Tatiana Khoroshavina, President of the Omsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Vyacheslav Reut said that the document will allow the two chambers to create the necessary legal basis for future cooperation. “Belarus and Omsk Oblast exchange delegation visits every year but we would like to better present products and the potential of enterprises at expos both in Omsk Oblast and in Belarus. We are intent on arranging exchanges of specialists, on-the-job training at innovative enterprises while the document will allow creating the necessary base,” said the official.

Speaking about Belarus’ cooperation with Omsk Oblast of Russia, the official underlined that the participation of 44 Belarusian enterprises and 17 Omsk Oblast companies in that day’s business forum and the business matchmaking session indicated the strong interest in this direction. The number of representatives of business circles was twice as small at a similar meeting two years ago.

“Belarus is interested in the huge technological potential of Omsk Oblast while the Russian colleagues are in turn interested in Belarusian light industry and furniture industry products, in precision mechanics products since the industry is well-developed in our country,” said Vyacheslav Reut.
