Moscow to host session of CIS Economic Council on 15 March

MOSCOW, 11 March (BelTA) – The 57th meeting of the CIS Economic Council will be held in Moscow on 15 March. Its agenda includes a wide range of issues of economic cooperation between the CIS member states, BelTA learnt from the CIS Executive Committee press service.

In particular, the meeting will discuss a number of documents: the list of the pilot interstate innovation projects of the CIS interstate program of innovation cooperation until 2020, the agreement on the prevention and suppression of natural fires in the frontier territories of the CIS member states, the agreement on the status of the CIS Economic Court, plan of action in radio-navigation for 2013-2017, regulations on the interstate scientific-information system "Radio-navigation”, a new edition of the charter of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Industry.

The meeting will hear a report on the progress in the implementation of the interstate program of innovation cooperation of the CIS member states until 2020, the convention on cross-border cooperation of the CIS states, the concept of creation of national databases and the exchange of information on the prevention and suppression of offences in intellectual property. Members of the Economic Council will present reports on the activities of the regional communication union, the CIS commission on the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.

Activities in the field of advertising and development of the CIS insurance market will be also on the agenda. The meeting will hear detailed reports on the achievements of the CIS member states in this field.

The meeting participants will discuss a number of budgetary and financial matters.
