Head of Latvia’s party Harmony in Minsk on an official visit
MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The Chairman of the Latvian Social and Democratic Party Harmony has arrived in Minsk on an official visit, BelTA learnt from the national public association Belaya Rus.
Janis Urbanovics is head of Latvia’s biggest parliamentary faction Harmony Center. He has arrived in Minsk in company with his counselor, Latvian journalist, political observer Modris Auzins.
The program of the visit will include a number of meetings. On 4 March a meeting will be held with Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs Leonid Gulyako and the leader of the Latvian diaspora in Belarus. On 5 March the headquarters of Belaya Rus will play host to an official meeting between representatives of the Belarusian organization and the delegation of the Harmony party. The parties are expected to sign an agreement on cooperation.
Latvian politician Janis Urbanovics is expected to give a press conference to the Belarusian media.
