Belarus, Italy mull over joint economic forum

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Italy plan to conduct a joint economic forum. The issue was discussed during a visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Italy Yevgeny Shestakov to Brescia Province on the invitation of the regional authorities, BelTA learnt from the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The Belarusian diplomat met with President of Brescia Province Daniele Molgora and Mayor Adriano Paroli. “The parties agreed to conduct a presentation of Belarus’ economy in Brescia Province as well as attract business circles of the region in the participation of the Belarusian-Italian economic forum, which is prepared by the Embassy of Belarus in Italy jointly with the Ministry for Economic Development of Italy,” the Foreign Ministry said.

Brescia is a province of Lombardy. It is the most developed industrial region of Italy. Brescia, the Italian steel and metalworking hub, is actively involved in the Belarusian-Italian economic cooperation.
