BCCI seeks cooperation with Oslo Chamber of Commerce

MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) - The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has suggested that the Minsk Office of the BCCI and the Oslo Chamber of Commerce and Industry sign a cooperation agreement. This issue was discussed during a meeting between the BCCI Chairman Mikhail Myatlikov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine and Belarus Jon Elvedal Fredriksen, BelTA learned from the BCCI.

The Ambassador informed the Belarusian side on the inclusion of the Republic of Belarus as of 1 January 2013, together with a number of other states, to the Norway Generalized System of Preferences which provides its beneficiaries a preferential access to the Norwegian market. In this respect, Mikhail Myatlikov suggested that the Minsk Office of the BCCI and the Oslo Chamber of Commerce and Industry should sign an agreement on cooperation in order to further develop economic relations between the two countries.

The parties also discussed the prospects of cooperation and business contacts between travel agencies of Belarus and Norway. Mikhail Myatlikov offered to organize special tours for Belarusian and Norwegian travel companies in the run-up to the 2014 IIHF World Championship, which will contribute to the development of inbound and outbound tourism of the two countries.
