Kudasov: SMEs can increase their share in GDP

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Small and medium-sized entreprises (SMEs) of the Single Economic Space can increase their share in GDP, Deputy Economy Minister of Belarus Anton Kudasov told media on 24 May.

"Small business can generate, as we see it in Europe, the biggest share of GDP. This is a large reserve in mutual trade," he said, stressing the important role of small and medium business in Belarus, which share in trade with the countries of the Single Economic Space has been continuously increasing.

Currently, the share of small and medium business in Belarus is 22% of GDP. It is about the same in Russia and Kazakhstan: 20% and 19% respectively. “But we seek to increase the share of small business in the economy. We want small and medium business to increase the trade in the Single economic Space as well,” he said.
