Union State MPs to discuss interregional cooperation

MOSCOW, 2 May (BelTA) – Practices, problems and prospects of interregional cooperation between Belarus and Russia will top the agenda of the 32nd meeting of the permanent seminar on the Union State construction under the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia that is due in Tver on 28-29 May, BelTA learnt from the PA press service.

The participants of the meeting will consider interregional cooperation as a way to prompt economic integration in the Union State. The meeting will focus on the improvement of the legal framework in order to create the most favorable conditions for direct regional cooperation and collaboration between economic agents, the Union State program. The participants of the seminar will talk over the implementation of regional partnership projects in agricultural production and processing industry, prospects for regional cooperation at the example of oblasts, cities and companies of Belarus and Russia.

The parties are expected to sign the final document that is to contain recommendations on interregional cooperation with an aim to intensify and strengthen partnership.

Partaking in the event will be MPs of the Parliamentary Assembly, representatives of the Union State Permanent Committee, ministries and agencies of Belarus and Russia, historians, political analysts and experts of the two countries, government representatives of the Russian Federation and Belarusian oblasts.

The participants of the seminar will be offered to visit Belarusian trading shows, industrial companies of Tver.
