Kravtsov appointed Grodno Oblast Governor

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Vladimir Kravtsov Chairman of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

Vladimir Kravtsov was born in the town of Podporozhye, Leningrad Oblast. He graduated from the Mogilev Machine Building Institute in 1975, the Academy of Social Sciences under the Aegis of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1991.

In 1975-1979 he worked as a master, mechanic, deputy workshop head at Mogilev Autoworks named after S.M.Kirov. In 1979-1981 Vladimir Kravtsov worked as an instructor of the Mogilev City Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. In 1981-1983 he worked as a chief of the industrial and transport department of the Oktyabrsky District Committee of the Mogilev branch of the Communist Party of Belarus. In 1983-1985 he was an instructor of the Mogilev Oblast Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. In 1985-1991 Vladimir Kravtsov worked as a secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Mogilev Autoworks, junior secretary of the Mogilev City Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. He became executive director of the Mogilev regional association of inter-industry business cooperation ININ in 1991, deputy director of Mogilev-based OOO MP RUKH in 1997. In 1998 he was appointed director of Mogilev-based Transenergo-Zapad.

He worked as a head of the committee for economic and market relations of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee in 2001-2002, Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee in 2002-2007, First Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee in 2007-2012. Vladimir Kravtsov was appointed Chairman of the Permanent Commission for Economic Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.

Vladimir Kravtsov was awarded the Medal for Labor Services.
