Preparations for EaP summit discussed in Paris

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Preparations for the Eastern Partnership (EaP) summit were discussed in Paris on 5 November in the presence of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian embassy in France.

The Paris seminar was dedicated to the forthcoming Vilnius summit of the EU’s initiative Eastern Partnership. The seminar was organized by the Embassies of Sweden and Poland in France. Speaking at the event was State Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Frank Belfrage, who presented the EU’s stance on the summit, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland Henryka Moscicka-Dendys. Attending the seminar were diplomats of the EaP member states, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France, NGOs and media.

The participants of the meeting discussed EU’s cooperation with the initiative’s partner nations, the EU policy in respect to the EU’s eastern neighbors and expectations from the forthcoming summit in Vilnius.

At the seminar Pavel Latushko and Henryka Moscicka-Dendys exchanged opinions on Belarus-EU cooperation prospects in the Eastern Partnership.
