Visa-free regime between Belarus, Turkey expected in 2013, Makei says

ISTANBUL, 1 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Turkey will move to a visa-free regime before the end of 2013, Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei told a press conference after meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, BelTA has learnt.

The agreement on the abolition of visas was signed by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries in March 2013 during the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to Belarus. “We are convinced that this agreement will come into effect before the end of the year. We think that the document is very important for the citizens of the two countries because it will simplify travels and make it easier for business partners to establish contacts,” the Minister noted.

An agreement on readmission between Belarus and Turkey was also signed in March 2013. Vladimir Makei underlined that Belarus welcomes the signing of these documents.
