Belarus senators to consider amendments to law on meetings

MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – The second meeting of the third session of the Council of the Republic of Belarus of the fifth convocation will take place on 18 October, BelTA learnt from the press service of the upper chamber of the parliament.

MPs are expected to introduce amendments and addenda to the law on national and local meetings and to some laws regarding the activity of political parties and other civil associations. Election of members to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Belarus is also on the agenda of the meeting.

MPs will also consider bills on ratification of a number of international documents. Among them is the Belarusian-Chinese agreement on joint exercise, protocols envisaging amendments to the regulation of Ukrainian steel pipe supplies to Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, and an agreement between the governments of Belarus, Poland and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the state border junction.
