Belarus’ economic model of great interest to Cuba

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Cuba is interested in theoretical and practical aspects of Belarus’ economic model, Vice President of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Marino Murillo Jorge said as he met with a Belarusians delegation that is on a visit to Havana on 14-18 October, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The Belarusian delegation is led by Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Andrei Tur. The delegation came to Cuba upon the invitation of the Cuban government. The delegation includes First Deputy Economy Minister Anatoly Filonov and Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the Belarusian State University Mikhail Kovalyov.

The delegation came to Cuba to take part in the seminar for Cuban top officials responsible for the fulfillment of the country’s major social and economic targets and for the upgrade of the Cuban economic model.

Marino Murillo Jorge emphasized that the communication of views and opinions between the experts will help come up with efficient proposals for the further actualization of the Cuban social and economic system.

During the seminar the Belarusian delegation will inform their Cuban counterparts about the reformation of the domestic economy and will make presentations about Belarus’ macroeconomic, social, housing and foreign policies and development of the agricultural, financial and banking sectors.
