Israeli delegation in Belarus on a working visit

MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) - An official delegation of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development headed by Minister Yair Shamir is in Belarus on a working visit on 8-10 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Israeli Embassy in the Republic of Belarus.

Yair Shamir is scheduled to hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusyi, Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, Minister of Agriculture and Food Leonid Zayats, Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology Igor Voitov, Deputy Manager of the Property Management Directorate of the President of the Republic of Belarus Nadezhda Kotkovets, Chairman of the Board of Belarusbank Sergei Pisarik, representatives of the business community of Belarus.

Yair Shamir is also scheduled to travel to Vitebsk where he will attend a meeting with officials of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, representatives of the business and scientific community of Belarus, the Embassy added. The meeting will discuss the ways of deepening economic cooperation between Israel and Belarus, and also new promising areas in the development of agriculture and agro-industrial production.

During his stay in Belarus, Yair Shamir wil visit the Dzerzhinsky agrokombinat which uses Israeli agricultural technology, and also will pay tribute to the memory of the prisoners of the Minsk ghetto and lay flowers at the Yama Memorial.
