Belarus takes over presidency in CIS Advisory Committee of Heads of Legal Services

MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Belarus is taking over the presidency in the Advisory Committee of Heads of Legal Services of the Foreign Ministries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The 15th meeting of the Advisory Committee is taking place in Yerevan (Armenia) on 3-4 October. Attending the event are heads of the legal services of the Foreign Ministries of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Ukraine. The Belarusian delegation is led by representative of the Foreign Ministry Lyudmila Tatarinovich.

The meeting discussed issues related to legislative regulation and law enforcement practice in the activity of foreign honorary consuls in the CIS. Participants of the Advisory Committee also considered the aspects of the CIS Executive Committee depositary practices, shared opinions on its further improvement taking into account modern trends in the development of the CIS legal framework.

The Advisory Committee of Heads of Legal Services of the CIS Foreign Ministries was founded following the decision of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council on 15 September 2004. Members of the Advisory Committee are heads of the legal services of the Foreign Ministries of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.
