Rubinov: EU shows unreadiness for constructive dialogue with Belarus

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – The European Union demonstrates unreadiness to take up a constructive position in respect to Belarus, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the fifth convocation Anatoly Rubinov said at the opening of the 3rd session of the upper chamber of the parliament on 2 October, BelTA has learnt.

In the recent years Belarus has done a lot to build up normal partner relations with its neighbors, including at the parliamentary level, Anatoly Rubinov said. “However, the adoption of new resolutions on Belarus by the OSCE PA and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, abound with ideology-driven stamps, has again demonstrated the EU’s unreadiness for constructive dialogue with Belarus,” the Speaker stressed.

Sanctions against our country, which are humiliating for the civilized world, are still in place,” Anatoly Rubinov said.

At the session on 2 October the Council of the Republic is expected to form its working bodies, the Secretariat and the Counting Board, and consider other issues of the agenda. MPs will listen to the report on OAO Grodno Azot development prospects as well as on the working experience of the Gomel Oblast Council of Deputies.
