Makei to pay working visit to Turkey

MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei is expected to pay a working visit to Turkey on 31 October-1 November, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The Belarusian official is due to meet with Speaker of the Parliament Cemil Cicek, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Culture and Tourism Omer Celik, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergun, President of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Ibrahim Caglar.

The program of the visit will include the 8th meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish joint intergovernmental economic commission (Vladimir Makei is co-chairman of the commission), the 13th commission of the Belarus-Turkey Business Cooperation Council and the Belarusian-Turkish Business Forum.

The commission will consider the status and prospects for bilateral relations in industry, tourism, education, agriculture, standardization and metrology, water use, transport and energy. The parties are expected to sign the relevant protocol at the end of the meeting.

The two countries are due to sign an intergovernmental protocol on cooperation in mass media and information and a memorandum of cooperation between the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus and the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey.
