Belarus-France discuss prospects of joint tourism projects

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Prospects for joint tourism projects with Belarus were discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France on 26 September, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in Paris.

The issue highlighted the meeting of Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister of Belarus Cheslav Shulga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko and Director of the Department for Continental Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France Eric Fournier. The sides took stock of Belarus’ participation in the 36th international French travel expo IFTM Top Resa, meetings and negotiations at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Commerce and Tourism of France and with French travel agents.

The parties discussed cooperation prospects in the tourism sector, considered joint approaches which can help increase mutual trips between the citizens of Belarus and France.

The sides agreed that the current level of tourist exchanges does not meet the interest in mutual trips from both the sides. The parties also stressed the importance of simplifying visa formalities.
