Makei to speak at General Debate of UN General Assembly
MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ delegation will take part at the 68th session of the UN General Assembly that opened in New York on 17 September. The delegation is led by Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei. He will stay in New York from 24 to 28 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
Vladimir Makei will speak at the General Debate of the session and take part in a number of high-level events, including a special event to follow up on efforts made towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, the High-Level meeting of the General Assembly on Nuclear Disarmament, a meeting of foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement member states and other events.
Vladimir Makei will also meet with foreign ministers and the UN top officials to discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
