Belarus MPs, Sergei Naryshkin to discuss Union State activity

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs will meet with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia Sergei Naryshkin to discuss the activity of the Union State and other political issues of bilateral importance. The meeting will take place as part of the International Parliamentary Games that are underway in Moscow on 19-23 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the House of Representatives.

The Belarusian delegation will be led by Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives Viktor Guminsky. “MPs will also meet with their counterparts from other integration associations, discuss the issue of inter-parliamentary cooperation, collaboration within inter-parliamentary organizations, share experience,” the press service said.

The International Parliamentary Games is an informal meeting between politicians from different countries. The Games strengthen relations and promote experience sharing. The event is an efficient method to popularize healthy lifestyle.

Partaking in the competitions will be members of parliament from 12 countries. Teams will compete in mini football, table tennis, court tennis, chess and badminton on the sports ground of Moscow in Red Square, Luzhniki Stadium and the park Festivalny.

The culmination of the Games will be a gala friendly between Russian and the world national football teams in Red Square.

This year the International Parliamentary Games will mark the 20th anniversary of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia.

The Games are organized by the Novaya Liga (New League) sports directorate under the auspices of the State Duma of Russia, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the Moscow City Hall. The organizing committee of the International Parliamentary Games is headed by Chairman of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin.
