Mikhail Khvostov elected Vice President of UNCTAD’s Trade and Development Board

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) - The 60th session of the UNCTAD’s Trade and Development Board is underway in Geneva, Switzerland, on 16-27 September, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

UNCTAD’s Trade and Development Board officials for the forthcoming one-year period have been appointed at the session. Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the UN Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva Mikhail Khvostov has been elected Vice President of UNCTAD’s Trade and Development Board,” the Foreign Ministry noted.

The session will review the formation of the new geography of global production, trade and finance and discuss how they have been affected by the world economic crisis. Evolution of the world economy trends since 2012 and the problems of the least developed countries will be considered, too. The session will make a number of decisions relating to the UNCTAD operation.
