Belarus-Spain economic cooperation to be presented in Madrid

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Belarus is preparing a presentation of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Spain in the cities of Madrid and Barcelona. The issue was discussed in a meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Spain (on concurrent) Pavel Latushko and Director General of the Department for Foreign Policy, Multilateral Diplomacy and Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain Ignacio Ibanez on 11 September, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in France.

The parties discussed the agenda of the presentation and considered the issues related to the development of the Belarusian-Spanish cooperation.

In particular, the sides discussed the ways to resume the dialogue between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, mutual relations between Belarus and the European Union. At the initiative of the Spanish official, the parties touched upon the issue of Belarus-Spain cooperation in the United Nations.

Pavel Latushko and Ignacio Ibanez talked over the prospects for the development of a bilateral legal framework in trade and economic cooperation, international road haulage. Belarus submitted to Spain a number of projects aimed at strengthening economic cooperation as well as the list of priority areas in bilateral cooperation.

At a meeting with President of the Confederation of Employers and Industries of Spain Jesus Banegas the parties discussed the organization of presentations of the trade, economic and investment cooperation between Belarus and Spain in Madrid and Barcelona, possible dates of holding the presentations, and new areas of cooperation between Belarusian and Spanish companies. Besides, the Belarusian diplomat held meetings with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain.
