Agreement on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union signed

MINSK (BelTA) – The heads of state signed an agreement on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) on 10 October, BelTA has learned.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin hopes that the parliaments of the three Customs Union member states will ratify the agreement on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union fast. Vladimir Putin made the relevant statement at the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on 10 October.

“We expect that the legislators of our states will smoothly pass the document by the end of the year,” said Vladimir Putin. He also said he hopes that the macroeconomic effect will be visible 1-2 years after Armenia's joins the Eurasian Economic Union.

“It is important to keep working as hard. We have to adopt about 50 documents on some organizational and financial aspects of the Eurasian Economic Union's operation by the end of the year,” said the President of the Russian Federation.

Apart from that, Vladimir Putin suggested holding the next session in Moscow in December in order to complete the entire protocol process.
