Kazakhstan ratifies readmission agreement with Belarus

ASTANA (BelTA - Kazinform) – Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on readmission and the executive protocol on the implementation of the agreement on readmission between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus," BelTA learned from the president's press service.

The agreement was signed in Astana on 4 October 2013. It provides for procedures for identification and readmission of persons who had violated the entry or residence regulations on the territories of Belarus or Kazakhstan. These include people who entered the country illegally or stayed in the country longer than their visa or residence permits allowed them.

Astana International Airport and Almaty International Airport will serve as the readmission points. The agreement will allow combating illegal migration in conformity with the norms of international law.
