CIS Plenipotentiaries to meet in Minsk 15 December

MINSK (BelTA) – The CIS Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the state parties to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will gather for its meeting in Minsk on 15 December, BelTA learned from the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting will be attended by Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.

This year the CIS Permanent Plenipotentiaries Council held 13 meetings, considered over 30 issues pertaining to various cooperation areas in the CIS and the activity of the CIS bodies. At the forthcoming 14th meeting the CIS permanent plenipotentiaries will summarize the results of their activity in 2015 and outline the action plan for 2016.

In 2016 Kyrgyzstan will take over the CIS presidency from Kazakhstan. In this respect Kazakhstan's permanent representative Yergali Bulegenov will make a speech on his country's chairmanship in the CIS in 2015.

Apart from that, the CIS Plenipotentiaries will consider proposals to the draft agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council which is due in Moscow on 8 April 2016.
