Belarus President approves resolution of talented youth support fund
MINSK (BelTA) - On 28 December Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed Executive Order No. 218рп “On the resolution of the special fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the social support of talented students”, BelTA learned form the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The President approved the resolution of the fund to award talented students for academic excellence.
Scholarships of the fund for the first semester of the 2016/2017 academic year have been awarded to 186 university students.
Prizes and lapel badges of the fund have been conferred on 43 winners of international Olympiads and contests, more than 1,000 winners of the final stage of the national academic excellence competitions, creative and scientific contests.
Encouragement prizes have been presented to 206 teachers, researchers, and other people for the big contribution to the development of talented students in the 2015/2016 academic year.
Besides, the fund has provided financial assistance to four intellectual and creative associations of students.
The executive order of the President of the Republic of Belarus is a testimony to the constant state support of talented students aimed at the creation of favorable conditions for the development of their skills and intellectual potential.
