Distinguished Belarusians awarded for labor achievements in 2011-2016

MINSK  (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko presented state awards to the representatives of various professions. The ceremony took place in the Palace of Independence, BelTA has learned.

Congress. It was an uneasy period in the development of our society. There were difficulties and achievements. On the whole, Belarus has made tangible progress in its development in this period. And the people doing their best every day to multiply the wellbeing of our country have made a big contribution to it. The today's ceremony is the first event in the series of events to honor the best workers of 2011-2016,” the head of state said.

Orders and honorary titles were conferred on 36 people in recognition of the many-year productive work, exemplary fulfillment of service duties, attainment of high results in the manufacturing sector, agriculture and the forestry industry, a big personal contribution to the enhancement of international relations, scientific research, healthcare, art, culture, and sport.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed gratitude to the workers of the manufacturing sector. These are the workers of enterprises which are by right considered Belarus' brands. “Their products sell well in our country and abroad. These enterprises apply promising innovations, new technical solutions to improve the quality of products, reduce their prime cost, energy and material intensity,” the President remarked. “Unfortunately, a few enterprises are lagging behind. We have recently discussed these problems in the machine-building industry.”

“Your achievements in the current complicated period prove that initiatives, professionalism, and responsible work are the true pillars of success,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

The Order of Fatherland 2nd Class was conferred on Vyacheslav Bursky, Director General of S.I. Vavilov Minsk Mechanical Plant – the managing company of BelOMO Holding Company.

Director General of Borisov Plant of Automotive and Tractor Electrical Equipment – the managing company of Avtokomponenty Holding Company Anatoly Kapsky and a number of other workers of the manufacturing industry received the Orders of Honor. 

State awards were bestowed upon the workers of the forestry industry. According to Alexander Lukashenko, these people make a contribution to ensuring the country's food security and help increase the foreign currency reserves. One of the best agricultural enterprises is Agrokombinat Snov which was named the animal husbandry leader last year. The head of state also praised the achievements of OAO Lozovichi (Kletsk District), and the agricultural enterprise Rassvet (Kirovsk District). “By awarding you we honor Belarusian agrarians who are working hard, use cutting-edge technologies, and achieve excellent results in their work. It is great that agricultural techniques are improving in our country from year to year, efficient management methods are used, the wellbeing of rural people is rising,” the President said.

Chairman of Agrokombinat Snov Nikolai Radoman was honored with the Order of Fatherland 3rd Class. Other workers of the agricultural industry received the Orders of Honor.

The ceremony was also attended by a big group of the military, including soldiers and the representatives of the Interior Ministry. They were honored with the Orders for the Service to the Homeland 3rd Class. “You have a very important mission to ensure safe living conditions, maintain law and order in the society, enhance the country's defense capacity. We are grateful to you for protecting peace and accord in our homes. These are the most valuable things for a person, the society, and the country,” Alexander Lukashenko remarked.

State awards were also conferred on doctors, the personnel of the Belarusian research center of epidemiology and microbiology, the Minsk Oblast maternity hospital. “You are making a big contribution to the fight against dangerous diseases, the protection of maternity and childhood, health improvement,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Alexander Lukashenko awarded successful Belarusian athletes. Honorary titles were conferred on the medalists of international competitions, a group of coaches who train new champions and promote a healthy lifestyle in the society.

State awards were bestowed on the artists of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Belarus. The President thanked them for promoting the ideals of genuine beauty, harmony, and high art in the society.

Soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater Anastasia Moskvina received the People's Artist of Belarus title.

“Belarusian people appreciate your achievements in the name of the Homeland. I hope that the memories of this day will stimulate you to make new achievements,” the head of state wished.

Alexander Lukashenko also awarded the Order of Fatherland 3rd Class to Belarus President's Aide Nikolai Korbut. The Honored Figure of Culture of Belarus title was conferred on Belarus' Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs Leonid Gulyako. Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Semyon Shapiro received the Honored Worker of Agriculture of Belarus title.
