Belarus government to develop strategy to reform, restructure state-run enterprises

MINSK (BelTA) – The Belarusian government will develop an integrated strategy for reforming and restructuring state-run enterprises, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he presented the draft government action program for 2016-2020 in the Oval Hall of the Government House on 5 April, BelTA has learned.

“We have plans to develop an integrated strategy for reforming and restructuring state-run enterprises by late September 2016. We should say what we are going to do regarding every enterprise, including its restructuring if it is needed,” Andrei Kobyakov explained.

He noted that a set of bankruptcy prevention measures has been developed to improve the state property management system. The emphasis is placed on pre-trial rehabilitation, selection and training of personnel, and close cooperation with courts.

“The comprehensive improvement of the legislation is almost completed. The government has prepared a draft law on bankruptcy and submitted it to parties concerned,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
