Belarus' Mogilev Oblast, China's Hunan Province sign memorandum of friendship
MOGILEV (BelTA) – Mogilev Oblast of Belarus and Hunan Province of China have signed a memorandum on developing friendly relations. The document was inked by Mogilev Oblast Vice Governor Dmitry Kharitonchik and Head of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People's Government of Hunan Province Xiao Bailing, BelTA has learned.
According to Dmitry Kharitonchik, the first serious step was made to develop and strengthen interregional cooperation between Mogilev Oblast and China's Hunan Province. “Our number one goal for the near future is to fill our cooperation with concrete real projects. We have already discussed two pilot projects. These include China's investment in Mogilevtransmash and the production of special-purpose equipment, and also the production of cranes at Mogilev's Strommashina Plant,” said Dmitry Kharitonchik.
According to head of the Chinese delegation, Changsha Mayor Hu Henghua, the official visit to Mogilev Oblast was brief but successful. “We hope that today's meeting and the signing of the memorandum will add an additional impetus to strengthening of interregional cooperation between Hunan Province and Mogilev Oblast. We see a big potential and prospects for the development of mutually beneficial relations in economy, culture, education, tourism and other areas. This will promote friendship between the two nations, the development and prosperity of the two states,” the Changsha Mayor said.
While in Mogilev Oblast, the Chinese guests were shown an exhibition of Mogilevtransmash equipment and got familiar with the assortment of the Mogilev Strommashina Plant.
