Antimonopoly agencies of Belarus, Russia set to sign memorandum of cooperation

MINSK (BelTA) – The Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry of Belarus and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia have plans to sign a memorandum of cooperation. A relevant agreement was reached during a meeting between Belarusian Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich and FAS Head Igor Artemyev, BelTA learned from the Belarusian ministry.

Plans have been made to sign the document during the Russian Competition Week to be held in September 2016. The memorandum will outline the key areas of cooperation, such as combating unfair competition and violations of regulations governing the retail sale of foodstuffs. “We are ready to provide all necessary assistance to the Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry of Belarus,” Igor Artemyev said.

The Russian official expressed interest in strengthening the bilateral relations and cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union. Besides, he invited Belarusian colleagues to take part in the second research-to-practice conference Antimonopoly Policy: Science, Practice, Education that will take place in December.
