Belarusian, Russian tax agencies agree on concurrent watchdog activities

MINSK (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties and the Federal Tax Service of Russia have agreed to hold simultaneous watchdog activities, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties.

“On 24 June Moscow played host to the second meeting of the joint board of the Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties and the Federal Tax Service of Russia. The meeting discussed issues related to the expansion of mutual cooperation in the organization of inspections. The parties reached an agreement to run concurrent control activities,” the press service said.

According to the ministry, the sides also considered ways to improve the exchange of information between the competent tax bodies. “The matter also pertains to the use of e-documents by the two services. The parties shared their experience in introducing and using new electronic services. The meeting also discussed the most important issues on the agenda, including VAT taxation of foreign organizations,” the ministry said.

During the visit the Belarusian delegation got familiar with the electronic tax services of Moscow. “The next meeting of the representatives of the two tax bodies is scheduled to take place in Belarus in October 2016,” the Belarusian Ministry of Taxes and Duties said.

The meeting was chaired by Belarusian Minister of Taxes and Duties Sergei Nalivaiko and Head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia Mikhail Mishustin.
