Lukashenko: Every person should have an opportunity to work

MINSK (BelTA) – Every person should have an opportunity to work and earn money, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said when approving the appointment of new heads of the local administrations on 14 September, BelTA informs.

The head of state emphasized that Ordinance No. 3 which is called “the ordinance on social parasites” by people had not been abolished. “This will be your document. You should determine those who do not work but must work. You should make them work. This will be the essence of the document. It is a bad idea to manage these processes from Minsk,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

“You should sort things out and solve the problem. Then they will stop complaining. You should help some people, make others work, organize retraining programs,” the Belarusian leader noted. “You know what kind of people are unemployed. I also remember this since Soviet times. Therefore, employment is a very important issue. We need to offer jobs to people and create new jobs.”

In this context, the president recalled the instruction to increase the average salary to Br1,000. “When we reach this level, we will be able to tell 10 million people that he have helped them earn their living and that now they should do their best at work. Of course, we will not stand aside, we will help and support them. But this issue is of paramount importance,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
