Belarusian lawmakers to consider bill on organic farming in autumn
MINSK (BelTA) – The draft law on organic farming will be considered at the autumn session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk told the media on 9 August, BelTA informs.
“At present, 37 draft laws are under consideration at the House of Representatives. 20 of them are passing second reading. These documents should become laws during the forthcoming session. Five bills introduced by the parliament will be considered, with two of them relating to the economic section, which are investments and privatization, and three others being of environmental importance. An absolutely new draft law on organic farming will be considered as well. For our country it is crucial to get good, high-quality products, without the use of chemicals. We are working hard to have this bill adopted at the autumn session,” Boleslav Pirshtuk said.
The Belarusian lawmakers will also need to consider the bills on road traffic, digital signature, population register. Parliamentary hearings will be held on a number of issues. The focus is also on the matters related to the tourist and investment attractiveness of Belarus. This topic will be discussed with the involvement of different experts. “We believe this will be useful to strengthen the positions of Belarus, including in the international arena. Tourism, in the broad sense of the term, is a great additional income, including for the national budget,” Boleslav Pirshtuk added.
