Belarus president appoints new judges

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has formalized staff reshuffle in the judiciary by signing Decree No. 348 “On appointing and dismissing judges”, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Pautov was relieved of duties as Supreme Court judge with subsequent notification of the Council of the Republic. He was appointed judge and Chairman of the Economic Court of Minsk. Judge Anatoly Garnovsky replaced him as member of the Presidium of the Supreme Court.

Alexander Lukashenko confirmed Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Economic Court Oleg Kiyenko for another five-year term. The same pertains to Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Court Sergei Shevtsov and Deputy Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Court Gennady Kleshchenok.

The decree formalized appointment and dismissal of other judges and chairmen of various courts across Belarusian regions.
