Belarus ready to bring its agricultural, industrial technologies to Algeria

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to work in the agricultural and industrial sectors of Algeria using its own technologies, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Algeria's Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel on 20 February, BelTA has learned.

“With your will and assistance, we are ready to work in the industry and agriculture using our technologies. We are ready to supply products and help you develop the corresponding capacities in Algeria,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The head of state noted that Algeria imports a big amount of various agricultural products that are produced in Belarus. “Your country imports a huge amount of dairy products. We are trying to diversify our exports and looking into the markets of China, Venezuela and even further. Algeria looks very much attractive from the logistics perspective,” the president stated

Alexander Lukashenko also expressed the confidence that the countries will be able to restore the previous level of military and technical cooperation.

The head of state hopes that the foreign policy departments will discuss all issues of bilateral cooperation and will agree on concrete steps for the development of cooperation in the afore-mentioned areas. We have been able to reach agreement with Egypt. Why can't we with Algeria?” the president asked rhetorically.

“With regard to the industry and our manufacturing of trucks, tractors, farm machines I must say that Algeria is a huge country and our equipment. The services of our construction companies and other enterprises will come just in handy in Algeria. In a word, we are open and ready for any cooperation with your country,” the Belarusian leader said.
