Lukashenko off to China on working visit

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has left for China on a working visit. He will take part in the session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The aircraft with the Belarusian head of state on board has left the Minsk International Airport, BelTA has learned.

According to the presidential press service, Alexander Lukashenko will voice the position and proposals of Belarus regarding the development of this organization, new dimensions of cooperation with the SCO member states, enhancement of security in the Eurasian region at the summit in Qingdao.

The president will also have a number of bilateral meetings with the leaders of the SCO member states. These include the negotiations with China President Xi Jinping. Special attention will be drawn to the strengthening of political cooperation, implementation of existing projects and development of new ones, enhancement of regional cooperation.
