Belarus, Kazakhstan ink roadmap for economic cooperation in 2010-2011
MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan have adopted a roadmap for trade and economic cooperation in 2010-2011. It is a detailed plan for joint work in the mid-term future. The document was signed after talks between the presidents of the two countries in Minsk on 26 November, BelTA has learned.
The sides have also signed agreements on cooperation in healthcare and medical science, manufacturing and research cooperation, trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural collaboration at the interregional level.
The sides have also inked a memorandum of understanding between the Belarusian Finance Ministry and the Agency for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Organizations of Kazakhstan.
The presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan have also adopted a joint resolution. The sides have underlined the importance of persistent development of integration processes on a multilateral basis and the importance of working out common approaches to the work within the framework of the CIS, EurAsEC, the European Union, and the CSTO. Belarus and Kazakhstan support the idea of holding an OSCE summit in 2010 taking into account the need for a serious analysis of the present role and the future of the organization in the context of security and cooperation, adaptation of the OSCE to new challenges and modern reality.
The sides have also agreed to contribute to tighter cooperation between the two states within the framework of integration associations in the post-Soviet space as well as leading international organizations for the sake of the stable development and economic prosperity.
Besides, Belarus and Kazakhstan intend to enhance the bilateral cooperation, focusing efforts on the development of new forms of economic partnership, including mutual attraction of investments and modern technologies, manufacturing cooperation, mutual participation of Belarusian and Kazakh companies in international and regional economic projects, which are implemented in the two countries. The sides have agreed to include joint projects involving Belarusian companies into the Kazakhstan industrialization plan for 2010-2014, which is under development. |
