Central Election Commission: presidential poll in Belarus recognized as valid
The turnout at the presidential poll in Belarus reached more than 50 per cent, secretary of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Nikolai Lozovik has told a press conference.
He noted that the Central Election Commission has no information on the violations that could affect the results of the elections.
According to the official site of the Central Election Commission, as of 12h00 the turnout reached 52.7 per cent. In Brest oblast the turnout made up 48.5 per cent, Vitebsk – 57.8 per cent, Gomel oblast – 59 per cent, Grodno – 54.7 per cent, Minsk – 53 per cent, Mogilev – 52.3 per cent and in the city of Minsk – 45.2 per cent.
In line with the electoral laws of Belarus, the elections are recognized as valid if the turnout makes more than a half of the people entitled to vote. |
