Alexander Lukashenko to meet with Yushchenko, Timoshenko 5 November
KIEV, 5 November (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is set to meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko in Kiev on 5 November, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.
The two sides are expected to sign a set of bilateral documents on development of the trade and economic relations between the two countries, border cooperation, collaboration under the mutually beneficial projects of the EU Eastern Partnership initiative as well as the regional cooperation.
The Presidents of the two countries will place wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Alexander Lukashenko will also lay flowers to the Taras Shevchenko Monument.
Alexander Lukashenko will meet with Viktor Yushchenko for the fourth time this year. The two Presidents met in Chernigov in January, in Gomel in May and at the CIS Summit in Chisinau in October.
On the same day the Belarusian head of state is planning to meet with Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Timoshenko.
Alexander Lukashenko also will deliver a speech in the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev.
Ukraine is one of the main trading partners of Belarus. In January-September 2009 the Belarusian export to Ukraine fell to $1174.6 million, the import – to $895.4 million. |
