Council of Ministers to consider draft program on developing civil aviation by 2006-2010
On March 14 prime minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorskiy will hold a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers to consider a draft governmental program on development of civil aviation of the Republic of Belarus by 2006-2010.
The program decribes the main civil aviation development trends, which will let stabilize and later increase cost effectiveness of the air transport process. The program will create conditions, in which the quality of air transport services rendered by the Belarusian companies will meet international standards. The task is to enhance the competitive power of civil aviation and flight security level.
More than Br500 billion will be allocated to implement the program including Br132 billion of own funds of organizations.
In 2001-2005 the analogous program was in force. It let strengthen the material and technical basis of civil aviation. The main assets of the branch were brought in line with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization /ICAO/. The artificial coating of the strips, taxiways and ramps were repaired in the national airport “Minsk”, the airports “Minsk-1”, “Brest”, “Gomel”, “Grodno” and “Vitebsk”. The building of the airport in Mogilev was repaired. The Mogilev airport was reconstructed as well. As a result, all airports and organizations of the State Aviation Committee of Belarus have corresponding certificates. |
