Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan agree most part of documents necessary to create Customs Union
A major part of the legal documents necessary to create the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan has been agreed, deputy chairman of the permanent commission for international affairs and links with the CIS member states of the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Anatoliy Krasutskiy has told BelTA. Anatoliy Krasutskiy is a member of the Belarusian delegation taking part in a session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Eurasian Economic Community /EurAsEC/.
According to him, the issue relating to the preparation of a regulatory framework of the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan was high on the agenda of a meeting of the permanent commission for customs regulation and border policy of the EurAsEC IPA.
Certain difficulties have arisen at the final stage of the formation of the union, Anatoliy Krasutskiy said. First of all it is the succession of the creation of the union. Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan have different views on the issue. Accession of the member states to the World Trade Organization is another obstacle. “Belarus is concerned about the postponement of the deadline to adopt the legal documents regulating the creation of the Customs Union’, the deputy said. “The creation of the union is postponed for at least two years. It is a serious drawback we should overcome as soon as possible. I think the heads of state will discuss this problem to resolve it”, said Anatoliy Krasutskiy. |
