Results of tenders to sell shares of five companies to be known in September-October

MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) – Results of the tenders to sell shares of five open joint-stock companies with assistance of agents will be revealed in September-October 2010, Deputy Director of the State Property Fund of the State Property Committee of Belarus Vladimir Kovalevsky told reporters on 28 July.

The tenders to sell the shares will be held on the designated days in August and September, said the official. He reminded the shares are being sold as part of a pilot project with the International Monetary Fund. Agents have been chosen to advise on the sales.

Potential investors are being sought to participate in the tender. “It is a lengthy process. It goes on. In late September-October results of the tenders will be revealed if there are winners,” said Vladimir Kovalevsky.

BelTA reported earlier, the State Property Committee has announced a tender to be held in September to sell shares of Rechitsa Textile, Barhim, Bobruisk Machine Building Plant, VolMET, and Lida Casting and Mechanical Plant. At the same time tenders were announced to invite agents that would advise on selling these enterprises. Three companies have submitted applications. They have signed contracts to become investment agents for these Belarusian enterprises.
