Belarus, Oman to sign agreement on sci-tech cooperation
MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarus and the Sultanate of Oman plan to sign an agreement on sci-tech cooperation, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus.
The document is likely to be signed in the near future. The agreement will help formalize the bilateral relations and fill them in with concrete projects.
Belarus also offers to hold a scientific and information conference for the university circles of Oman and Belarus in October-November 2010. The event will help define the areas of interests among scientists and businessmen of the two countries.
In the future Belarus plans to open a trading house in Oman and set up a center for sci-tech cooperation at the University of the Sultanate of Oman.
The Sultanate of Oman, on its part, is interested in education cooperation with Belarus. The Minister of Higher Education and Head of the Supreme Council for Science of the Sultanate of Oman is expected to pay an official visit to Belarus in autumn 2010. A decision has been made to teach 20 citizens of Oman in the Belarusian universities in 2010. “The country is also ready to assist the opening of a center of the Sultanate of Oman in Minsk State Linguistics University,” the press service said. |
